DESIGN MATTERS

Collections of Work.

Artist LaRece Egli has been creating fine artworks and interactive design projects under the handle LaRece Construction since 2007. Because LaRece is fluent in multiple mediums, her work has ranged over the years from textiles and performance to graphics and media. LaRece’s current work is grounded at home in the sub arctic community that has informed and inspired her to create meaningful objects and experiences that support culture and community in Bristol Bay. LaRece primarily specializes in User Experience, or UX Design which, minus the industry specific lingo, means she totes a fairly heavy tool bag that is geared entirely toward creating materials, products and experiences that are functional, relevant and meaningful in relation to their intended audience and environment. This comprehensive design approach is grounded in research and is intended to harness authentic expression and add depth to human relationships with design which is invaluable for addressing complex social, cultural and behavioral issues. The primary focus for her commercial work since 2013, has been on developing a niche market that aids large mission driven organizations in developing innovative solutions that address a kaleidoscope of unique region specific communication challenges. This experience has allowed her to specialize exclusively in creating community based work that benefits the social, cultural and economic fabric of our region. Much of her drive for developing the cultural landscape of Bristol Bay with meaningful design is to establish a firm foundation for her own passion projects that include a humanities based media project called Our Life and a new series of fine art documentary of dreams called iWitness.
